Currell Residential sponsors Hoxton Street dance floor
July 18 2012
On Saturday 14th July Currell Residential were proud to be sponsoring the Dance Stage at the annual Shoreditch Festival. The stage was located on Hoxton Street in Hackney and despite the rain it was a great success.
The stage opened at 11.30 in the morning and the first act incorporated original choreography and break dancing from local favourites Ebonessence and Nemesis. From 12.30 until 4.00 the floor was opened to the public and party goers under the musical direction of Mr Wonderful. The stage then closed from 4.00 until late with reggae, funk soul and hip hop inspired dancing.
The Shoreditch Festival continues again this year and will incorporate the torch relay coming to Hackney to give it that extra Olympic injection.
It will be the eleventh time the festival has run and is free of charge and provides a rich mixture of quality performances and cultural experiences. It takes place between the 14th and 22nd July, with the torch travelling through Hackney on the 21st July.
Produced by the Shoreditch Trust, the festival works with over 65 programme partners from across the borough and has an estimated audience of 20,000 every year. The trust aims to stimulate social inclusion and to forge cultural bridges across Hackney.
It will take place near the Regents Canal in the De Beauvoir area and along parts of Kingsland Road. Kingsland road will also see the torch pass through on the 21st so the option to be a part of both events is there if you wish.
