Local charity Hackney Pirates has moved to new premises at 138 Kingsland High Street and now the space is fully up and running.
The premises include an exciting new ‘Shop of Adventures’ styled like a real life pirate ship complete with secret doorway, and amazing new creative areas. The larger space means more children can benefit from the programme.
Hackney Pirates is open every week night after school for children aged 9-12. The aim is to help them with their homework, improve their literacy, and engage them in creative problems. Ideally, this will increase the children’s confidence as well as their literacy skills allowing them to perform better not only in school but in life too.
To find out more about their work please visit their website www.hackneypirates.org or why not pay them a visit at their shop to stock up on children’s books and some great crafts from local artisan, including jewellery and greetings cards.
