Aida Noor is currently on a 15 month apprentice scheme at Currell, the first one we have ever done. We speak to Aida to see how everything is going so far.
How did you hear about the apprenticeship at Currell?
A friend suggested it to me as I am quite business minded and really enjoyed previous work experience at a law firm. I got in touch with a trainer from City & Islington College, who pre-interviewed me to see if I was a suitable candidate before going to Currell for a final interview.
Does the apprenticeship work well with your college course?
Most of the time I am provided with work which supports the units I have chosen at college and I am given certain tasks that I can evidence through my college portfolio.
Are you learning any new skills?
One of the biggest things I have learnt is how to build more positive working relationships and how to change my attitude to suit the needs of the working environment.
What are you aiming to achieve through this apprenticeship?
I want to learn as much as possible about this particular industry and all the different roles within it.
Would you recommend an apprenticeship to other people?
If you are someone like me, who is not ready for university, it is a great way to get some experience for your CV. Before starting the apprenticeship I thought it would be fairly easy but now I realise you have to be determined and dedicated to do a good job!
