St Martins’ Church in Gospel Oak has been fundraising as part of its ‘Pinnacle Push’ to get much needed cash for essential restorations. So far, £17,000 has been raised in a bid to get the Grade I listed church’s deteriorating spire restored.
The latest fundraising event saw the church host an evening for local residents and businesses. It was a great opportunity to find out more about why the money is so desperately needed and offered a chance for some discussion over drinks and nibbles.
St Martin’s is a pillar of the community and for many residents is the one constant in a sometimes ever changing environment. The fundraising is all part of a process to ensure that this local landmark continues to be a place of worship, refuge and support for every member of the community who needs it.
Despite raising £17,000 there is still a way to go until the church hits its £67,000 target but progress so far has been promising and local support is very encouraging.
Thank you to everyone who attended the evening and good luck to St Martin’s with reaching the final target!
