Regent’s Canal has a long history, dating all the way back to 1820, it was originally constructed as a transport network, but the emerging railways across England meant that boat travel became less popular and the canal was almost turned into a rail road.
Today, the canal, which stretches all the way from Paddington to Limehouse Basin (passing Primrose Hill, London Zoo, King’s Cross and Victoria Park along the way), is a lively hub of bars and restaurants, including floating pontoon bars and canal boat coffee shops. Due to bombing during the Blitz, some areas of Regent’s Canal are very deep and you can often spot anglers trying their luck fishing along the banks. While the canal might not have been a successful transport hub in its early days, today it’s a popular walking and cycling route – you can bike from Victoria Park all the way to Camden in half an hour – and walking along the canal you’ll spot colourful house boats moored all the way from East London to King’s Cross.
Homes along the canal benefit from amazing connectivity and great waterside views. Here are a few of the properties currently available on Regent’s Canal… please get in touch for more information on any of these properties.
