Victoria Park boasts beautiful old buildings, boutiques, restaurants and pubs in a tranquil atmosphere away from the hubbub of the city.

The park itself is home to picturesque lakes, fountains and cherry trees. With an old English Garden, a children's playground and skate ramps the park has something for everyone. It also plays host to a number of festivals through the summer months, putting it at the heart of the community.

Close to the City, Victoria Park is a popular location for both families and young couples.

Going out

Located on the edge of Victoria Park the pace of life here is much slower than other parts of Hackney but there is still loads to do, particularly in the Victoria Park village area. It is also only a short bus ride to Dalston and Hackney Central which are packed with lively bars and restaurants.

We recommend:

  • The Lauriston, Victoria Park Road - Great local pub
  • Columbia Road Market, Columbia Road - Famous flower market
  • Empress of India, Lauriston Road - Indian food
  • The Britannia, Victoria Park Road - Great pub that sits right on the park

Independent shops dominate the area, partciularly children's shops which cater for the families in the area. There is also some amazing food retailers which supply high quality food.

We recommend:

  • Deli Downstairs, 211 Victoria Park Road - Delicatessen
  • Victoria Park Books, 174 Victoria Park Road - Children's Books
  • Little Gems, 243 Victoria Park Road - Baby & Children's clothing
  • Chatham Place Fashion Outlet, Chatham Place - Just a short bus ride away

The eponymous park was originally designed as a leisure destination for the East End to give deprived Victorian locals some  and to this day it is an amazing space for local residents to enjoy.

We recommend:

  • The Bandstand - Musical events run throughout the summer
  • Sports - Tennis courts and cricket nets
  • Festivals - Lovebox and other festivals
